NJConnect

The first NJConnect meetup went off last night at Red Lounge in Red Bank, NJ! The event brought together a number of different people interested in technology, social media, and interactive marketing such as Chris Bautista of Frog Kick, Mariano Di Fabio of Avelient, Vidar Brekke of Social Intent, and Jay Bryant of LiveWorld just to name a few.

Introducing PRtips on Twitter

Today, we launched our own Twitter focusing on sharing insights on the PR process and how to communicate with the media, blogs and industry analysts, as well as other audiences, such as employees, customers and investors.

The business and process of PR is changing and our Twitter intends to help both newcomers and veterans share ideas, perspectives and plain old common sense. This Twitter does not claim to be the only source for emerging companies and people in the business to improve their PR skills.

What a Sandcastle Contest Can Teach Us About Marketing

Since 1999, Springboard has helped coordinate one of the largest sandcastle and sand sculpting contests in the northeast. Using the medium of sand, “artists” of all ages and levels create astonishing masterpieces. The event transforms the beach into a mosaic that includes traditional sandcastles, sea creatures, cartoon characters, shipwrecked boats, Yankee Stadium, a New York City skyline, and even a bowling lane with 10 pins and ball.

Held on the beautiful beaches of Belmar, NJ (located in the middle of the “Jersey Shore”), the event attracts 10,000-plus sand enthusiasts. Among the different categories separated by age, all participants must follow four simple guidelines which represent the criteria for judging – creativity, originality, resourcefulness, and accessories.
