Events: The “Real” Real-Time Social Networks

Social media, video and blogs are among the top tools to promote your business and ideas. If you are not using them you are definitely missing out on new mediums and platforms to reach your audience. Technology aside, there is nothing more “social” and “real-time” then actually meeting people in person, at conferences, meetups and events.

Our client Apstrata is no stranger to this concept. The provider of real-time Web technology worked with the team here at Springboard to create an event plan which is part of their overall marketing communications strategy. Apstrata targets application developers and the team here prepared a lineup of events for them to regularly participate in.

Out of Touch

In the last week, I had a few experiences that left me thinking, “Wow, some people are seriously out of touch.”   

It’s no surprise, that the marketing and PR landscape is evolving, especially with the emergence of social media, blogs, online video, etc. (we have blogged about before: here and here).  However it is shocking that there are people—PR and marketing professionals alike—who still do not see the value in embracing social media.
